Windows Phone 10 should be compatible with the beta, but has not yet been verified by Cisco. The current Windows 10 Technical Preview build for Phones does not have a functioning VPN Settings screen. We welcome your feedback on any success or failures via email.
Request permission from your IT Department before attempting to use beta software in your environment.
AnyConnect Plus/Apex licensing is required. During the beta program, AnyConnect for Windows Phone will also be permitted for use with legacy licensing (Essentials or Premium PLUS Mobile).
For a list of known issues and feature limitations, please see the release notes at:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/vpn_client/anyconnect/anyconnect41/release/notes/b_Release_Notes_Windows_Phone_AnyConnect_4-1-x.html
CSCuu08728 - We highly recommend using the Windows Phone client only for testing to VPN groups with smaller idle timeouts as a user initiated disconnect does not currently cleanly disconnect from the head-end (ASA)
CSCut93513 - Host scan must be disabled on an ASA group to connect at this time
CSCuu11410 - Windows Phone App Receives Error Code 2250 - If this error message is received within a few seconds of making a VPN connection (prior to any prompts being displayed), the reason for this is that the current beta only supports ASA head-ends running version 8.4 or later
The beta currently supports TLS (including TLS 1.2) connections. DTLS & IPsec IKEv2 connections are not supported at this time.
Other open issues for the initial beta:
Certificates require administrator changes (noted in release notes) for the current beta build
VPN roaming (WiFi <-> 3/4G) not supported
AnyConnect XML profiles do not update from the head-end
Token challenge messages not displayed currently
Secondary authentication (additional password) not supported
Group URL not supported (pulldown list functions)
